Once you create an account on LexAlign.com, you'll get a Compliance Action Plan that we create for you based on the business you're in. It lists the Topics of regulatory requirements that may apply to you under Federal Law administered by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).
These are high risk regulations.
Your Compliance Action Plan explains how to use LexAlign to create your Compliance Essentials.
For each Topic that appears to apply to your business (based on your responses to simple multiple-choice questions) LexAlign will automatically create a Checklist of relevant requirements under that area of law. The Checklists are intended to help you move from Step 1 to Step 2 on the Compliance Ladder. You can use your Checklists to create the documents, procedures, audits and training required in Steps 3 - 5. You can (and you should) also use your Checklists to determine whether any other provider's compliance solutions are suitable and adequate for your needs.
These are tailored consumer notices required under Federal Law for the Topics that apply. They may include your Federal Privacy Notice, your Adverse Action Notice, your Electronic Transactions notice, and others. They must accurately reflect what you actually do.
To be compliant your Policies must show that you've accurately identified which laws and which particular requirements under the laws apply to your business. For that reason, they need to be tailored to your activities.
The set of tailored Policies make up your Federal Compliance Manual.
For each of these Compliance Essentials, we have designed customized questionnaires (which we call Topic "Apps") to help determine which information is relevant and accurate for your business.
Your Compliance Essentials are intended to cover regulations issued and enforced by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).
At this time, LexAlign does not cover state or other Federal regulations. Please be sure to check with a Compliance expert to determine which other requirements apply to you.
